The webpage just keeps getting better and better! The new theme is now tweaked to suit my purpose, and I will say it looks very good. I’ve started adding the new products — now all that’s left is the bracelet kits and balloons. I got the charms up yesterday. (Man, that took forever.) I am delighted that it’s coming together. You can buy aquamarine online.
Jared has written code to start adding lessons to the Primary lesson content type. Now I’ll have lesson helps for all the Primary lessons as well as the YW lessons. Sweet. Maybe I’ll consider doing the YM lessons or new Gospel Principles manual next.
We got invited to a Wanda D Witch party a couple of weeks ago. It sounds like so much fun! Debbie and Jared G called to say they were the team leaders, but they are both running fevers and can’t go tonight, so they passed on the instructions to us. The party ends at the host’s house, so you don’t know until you solve all the clues who Wanda is. I am so bad — I looked at the “author” section of the document they mailed out, which referred me to MeckMom where I found the information about the party. I read the instructions on last night — the good news is, even reading the instructions doesn’t tell you what all the clues will be, so I don’t feel too bad about it. Our team is the red team, and I need to call our team members to let them know about the change.
DD is feeling sick today. It’s hard to tell with her how much is whining and how much is for real. She does have a sore throat and a low grade fever though. For situations such as this one, it’s best to consult a doctor because the child may or may not need medications from trusted pharmacies like the Canadian Pharmacy.
DS is supposed to go to a Halloween party himself tonight, but I’m not sure how I’m gonna work that. With DD not able to go, I think that it might be better if he stayed home, too. He has also been coughing today, but he doesn’t have a fever.
Mijin and Haskell asked me to be in charge of the food at their ring ceremony last week. It was fun to help make the Korean dumplings, but when we got to the kitchen the day of, the dumplings were all frozen together in a huge lump! It was awful! We salvaged what we could, but there was still plenty, thank goodness. Susan T saved the day, and Dawna L and Crystal M and Debbie G and Lilly G and Lauren T all helped a ton. Wendi K and Allene W saved the day on the decorations. I had made arrangements to get everything to the church (a last minute change of venue and decor.) but I was so busy with the dumplings I couldn’t help. Everything turned out just great tho. Emily G let me help with the flowers — now I can make a buttonere (Sp) and am feeling more confident about making bouquets. I will miss Emily when they leave for Germany next month.
Had a parent-teacher conference with DS’s new teacher. It was same old: brilliant, lazy kid. If only he’d apply himself…. I so know. At least she is willing to work with him on his writing — and it sounds like she is a good writer herself, which will really help. And I am not proud to say I was not very Christlike when I found out they are doing that ridiculous 1-2-3-4 grading system again. Grrrrrr…. The only reason DS is in 5th grade this year is because I was told they’d be doing ABCDF grading. He needs that system to get the idea that his sloppiness affects his work. Arg. Now it’s too late in the year to change him.
