I’m still so frustrated! We can’t get the settings right on the server. Jared is doing some more research now to see if he can figure out what to do. I am _so_ ready to have this finished.

He did get all the old forum posts imported last week. The phpbb2drupal module was actually pretty slick.

Christmas went well. It was nice to have a quiet holiday. It was just the four of us and Aunt Sally Lou. We had dinner at her house Christmas eve and the kids opened gifts from her. We told the kids that they couldn’t open any presents before 8:30 (Note to self: start opening gifts no later than 8:00 AM next year to avoid mutiny.), so Jared put off wrapping his gifts until Christmas morning. But then catastrophe struck when he couldn’t find one of the presents he hid!

We had DS totally snowed about his gifts. Told him not to expect much because we had already been to DisneyWorld, and we were broke. You should have seen his face when he opened the Gift He Would Die Without: a computer game called Spore. Priceless. I had stuffed it towards the back of the tree with some gift-wrapped books that were about the same size, so it really surprised him when he opened it. Made my week…..

… especially because I was getting pretty irritated at DD, who had managed to see nearly all of her gifts beforehand. I caught her one day in my bedroom floor reading the Animal Encyclopedia book I bought her. The best part for me is the surprise on their faces, so I was really getting bummed. I was nearly ready to take all her gifts back to the store. Bug fortunately, I had ordered a soccer goal that came just 2 days before Christmas in this obscure looking box. That one was a surprise at least!

I got my metal wall sculpture thingie from Jared. It helps when you take hubby to the store, show him the gift, and give him a coupon for 20% off. :) DD bought me some butter knives, and DS got me … uh ……… I’ll get it in a minute ……. I’m embarrassed that I’ve forgotten already.

Jared got some clothes, a book, and an electric toothbrush. His dad bought him a nailer and air compressor for the basement project. Who knows what all we’ll have to buy for *that* project. My dad bought him a new barrel for his shotgun.

We got ASL some rocking chairs for our front porch. She always wants to set up there when she picks up the mail.

The four of us plus ASL went to Betty and Claude’s for dinner Saturday. Tony, Nicole, and baby Ella were there, along with Heather and Angie. Ella took her first two steps right there while we all watched! So cute! DD loved Heather, who played kickball and Chinese checkers with her. DS was enraptured when he found that she had played Spore, too!

The Monks stopped by on their way back to CT from a Christmas cruise. It was good to see all the kids. We sure love them.
