My brother posted this on his Facebook page: “what’s worse… to go to Sunday School and probably nod off or find a vacant room and intentionally sleep.”
Hehe.
If only he knew what his dear sister was doing Sunday. We skipped out of Church after sacrament meeting and went to DC! We hit the aquarium and Natural History Museum and then strolled through the Climate Rally. It was so nice! I don’t know why we don’t go to DC every Sunday. We talked about doing it when we first moved here, but I was called as RS president after just 6 months and the idea just dropped off. Now we have morning Church, and it’s the perfect trip to head up there with a picnic basket and hang out on the Mall.
Okay, maybe we won’t do it EVERY Sunday, but hopefully we can do it often.
My good friend in Utah and I have been talking about going on vacation for along time, and we finally booked one today! We are going on a cruise from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas in September!!!! Yay! She has been having a hard go of it lately, and I’m excited to go, too. I’m hoping my friend from Mississippi can come, too.
I have been working like crazy on MormonShare.com and the CTR-Ring.com sites this past week. It’s almost an obsession. I need to back down and get some work done around the house. The cats have tracked mud all across the floor and I just keep walking through it. The kids are grounded from computers (yes, both of them — this is week 2 for DS, who got FOURTEEN of his personal websites shut down two weeks ago), and I’ve been able to get them to do a lot of housework for me.
Jared is home now, and he spent much of the day running errands for me. Thank God he got the lawnmower fixed!!!!!! When it died last Saturday I thought I might blow a gasket. And of course I fretted about it all week long. I say fretted, but you should read “ground over and over in my mind and couldn’t sleep”. I gave him a list of honey-dos that I hope he can get to this week. Hopefully he’ll have the sheds done by the end of the week. I have been nagging him about that for years. Literally. He got the idea at FHE that he should write an object lesson app for the Android or iPhone for MormonShare. That would be pretty useful for teachers, I think. He wrote me a little function while he was out of town to display targeted products within the text of my pages. Awesome. That tiny function was the entire vision I had when I switched over to Drupal a couple of years ago. I didn’t think it would take so long. But I’m thrilled to see it coming to fruition.
Well, life continues on. I am delighted the sites are doing as well as they are. I will be updating JS.net this week and spending some time on the template files.
I am still working in the garden a good bit, and the kids’ beds are the next to go in. I have cauliflower, radishes, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, peas, parsnips, and carrots already in. Next will be the squashes, cucumbers, and beans, but they will have to wait for warmer weather.
I bought those kind of pumpkin seeds that are supposed to grow 500+ lbs, and I’ll let the kids try it out. I also bought some Benary’s Giant zinnias that we’ll put in this year, too. All of those will go outside the main garden spot, though.
